Masa 14
1825 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009
What I ate:
Prosciutto Flatbread
Shrimp & Bulgogi Fried Rice
Hoisin & Chipotle Salmon
Crunchy Shrimp
Chocolate cake
This was another great restaurant with a great location. Our servers name was London. She was pretty nice, but we just needed more water.
The different thing about this restaurant was that instead of bringing you bread while you wait for your food, they brought edamame. That was my first time tasting it. It was a little grilled and had a saltiness that was awesome.
My flatbread was an awesome light dish. The salty, tangy and sweet flavors were great together. That fried rice was great too. I love rice. The meat was tender and not chewy. None of the vegetables were burnt and neither was the rice.
The salmon was great and it had a nice char on it. The rice that was under it reminded me of a salad with mint. The shrimp turned out great too. They were actually crunchy and not hard. The sauce reminded me of like mustard and tartar sauce mixed together.
The bad thing was the cake. It didn’t really taste like a cake. It seemed over whipped, it wasn’t moist and I couldn’t really taste the chocolate.
How did they measure up?
