The Lighthouse Restaurant and Dock Bar
14636 Solomons Island Rd, Solomons, MD 20688
What I ate:
Softshell Crab Sandwich
Homemade Chips
Fried Oysters
The best thing about this place was the view. I did take some pictures at the end of the dock. There were people coming to the restaurant on their jet skis! My servers name was Alana. She was an ok server and she did come to our table whenever she passed by.
I was actually a little nervous trying this, but my Mom and my Poppop said they like softshell crabs, so I did. I liked the flavor of the crab, but not the texture. I’m used to hard shelled crabs, so this was too soft and I just didn’t feel like I was actually getting crab. I couldn't finish it because of that. Something tasted powdery inside, I’m not sure what that was.
The chips were just ok. You could tell they were homemade, but they weren’t crunchy like actual chips. They were literally soft.
This was also my first time trying fried oysters. They weren’t spicy even though I thought they might be. They were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Of all the things I ate, I liked them most and would eat them again.
Overall, it was just an okay experience. The view was awesome though.
How did they measure up?
